Converting Course Times in Swimming

An Olympic-sized swimming pool consists of 10 lanes, each with a width of 2.5 meters, resulting in a total width of 25 meters. Pools with a width of 25 meters are commonly referred to as short courses, while those with a width of 50 meters are known as long courses.

These factors will allow you to convert metric times achieved in a 25-meter or 50-meter pool to an equivalent time for a 25-yard pool, or vice-versa.
